Raising money after a house fire took everything

Hi my name is Jess and I am fundraising for one of my closest friends Leah and her three beautiful little girls.

Yesterday (Tuesday 11th July) in the afternoon a fire ripped through their family home and they have lost everything.

The fire started in the bedroom that her two youngest daughters share after a toy had been left on charge. Leah and her youngest two where in the house at the time and Leah was bathing them both. They where only alerted of the fire when one of her daughters asked to get out of the bath and go upstairs to get a toy (the bathroom is downstairs). She shouted to her mum that she couldn’t open the door and that there was was black smoke. Leah ran up stairs to open the door and was thrown back by the heat.

Luckily she got herself and both of her daughters out of the house just in time before the widows blew and ceilings fell through.

Leah has been left physically and mentally devastated by this. The toy was put on charge that morning. If it was put on charge before bedtime then this would have been fatal.

The main thing is that Leah and her girls are safe and alive. But everything they own has gone and are now going to have to rebuild their lives from scratch. The money raised will go towards clothes, shoes and toys for her three girls and anything left over from this will help for when she is back in her home to put towards household goods.
