Help Me Regain My Independence with a Foldable Wheelchair
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sara. I’m a wife and a proud mum of two, but for the past three years, I’ve been facing a daily struggle that has drastically limited my ability to enjoy life with my family. Due to my mobility issues, I’m unable to walk more than a few steps, and I rely on a powerchair to get around. Unfortunately, the chair I currently use cannot be transported in a car, forcing me to depend on buses and meet my family at our destinations. This situation has left me isolated and vulnerable, especially when I have to travel alone.
Recently, something happened that shook me to my core. While out by myself, I was sexually harassed, and in that moment, I felt completely helpless—stuck in a chair that I couldn’t escape from, alone, and terrified. I can’t help but think that if I had the right equipment, I wouldn’t have been in that position. With a foldable powerchair, I could travel safely with my family, avoiding dangerous situations and reclaiming the joy of spending time together without fear.
The chair I have now isn’t just inconvenient—it’s painful. It wasn’t designed for someone with my hip size, and instead of giving me freedom, it adds to my discomfort. All I want is the chance to live a normal life, to feel safe, and to be able to join my family on outings without the constant worry of how I’ll get there or what could happen along the way.
I’m reaching out to ask for your help in raising £1000 to purchase a foldable powerchair that suits my needs. This chair would be life-changing for me, giving me back my independence, my safety, and my peace of mind. Your support, no matter the amount, would mean the world to me and my family. With your help, I can finally start enjoying life again, without fear holding me back.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and thank you for any support you can provide. Together, we can make a difference.
