Raise money for Air ambulance
In May 2023, the world lost a vibrant, adventurous soul—Roberto Cafora 34, a beloved friend, family member, and inspiration to all who knew him. Tragically, Roberto passed away on May 13th after suffering severe brain damage in a motorcycle accident on May 1st near Scotton.
Thanks to the swift and expert response of the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, just 45 minutes after the accident, Roberto was airlifted to Hull Royal Infirmary. There, a dedicated team of medical professionals worked tirelessly to save him. In the days that followed, their efforts gave Roberto’s family and friends the precious opportunity to say our final goodbyes. Although we ultimately had to let him go, they found comfort in knowing we were all able to share those last moments together.
In memory of Roberto’s adventurous spirit and his legacy of generosity, I will be running both the London Marathon and the Edinburgh Half Marathon to raise funds for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance. This cause was particularly meaningful to Roberto, as their quick response gave him a chance to hold on just long enough for his loved ones to say farewell.
In his final act of kindness, Roberto became an organ donor, offering his vital organs to those in need, allowing a part of him to live on and giving others a second chance at life.
Through these races, I aim to support the extraordinary work of the Air Ambulance that brought Roberto’s family a moment of hope during their heartbreak. Any donations made will honor his memory and ensure that others, like Roberto, can receive the life-saving care they need in their most critical moments.
