Raise money for Codys Heart Surgery and medicine

Hi! My name is Cody, I'm a 21-year-old diabetic born with a heart disease called subaortic stenosis. Typically people born with this disease get it treated very early on in their life, however, me being an extremely rare case, up until now I haven't needed surgery to remove it. For those of you who don't know a subaortic stenosis is a heart disease that blocks the left ventricular flow from the heart. It's a piece of skin that is constantly growing in the left ventricle that at some point will cause my heart to stop. Unfortunately, even with insurance, the surgery to get this removed will cost 5000-10000 dollars on average. Currently, I work a full-time job while also being a full-time college student. What I make is just barely enough to let me afford my insulin and rent, among other bills. I absolutely hate asking people for help, but, if I felt I had another option I wouldn't be attempting this. I know this is a long shot and I'm not expecting much, but every little thing helps.

A little back story: back in 2016 my dad died of a heart attack, heart problems have always run in my family as his dad also died of a heart attack before him. I was a pretty active kid and because of that this heart problem was able to be out off but now we’re reaching dangerous levels of needing surgery due to how long my family waited.
