" TO BE FEAR-LESS YOU MUST BE FREE"

Fear-Less is a platform created by me, Izzy Steven, to ensure our future generation is equipped with the tools, support and information that we were deprived of in our youth.

- A Fear-Less individual seeks change for the betterment of themselves
- A Fear-Less community promotes growth and equality.
- A Fear-Less society dismantles deliberate privilege and systematic racism.

It is our time to invest in a community we are proud of. It is our time to educate everyone on black history and culture. Not by exploiting or erasing it, but by directing and viewing it through our own lens. To be Fear-Less we must rejoice in stabilising our economic growth and generational wealth.

Fear-Less recognises that significant structural changes must happen in business and education to finally ensure our youth can equate to greatness. Therefore we intend to promote financial intelligence and business acumen amongst the children via workshops.

Telling people they can achieve anything within a system that does not equally benefit everyone, is a stale and tired notion. We intend to disrupt the system in which access to education and financial support is not made available to everyone. Most importantly, we are reawakening community spaces that no longer provide for their residents.

With any support we receive from this Go Fund me we will start by reconstructing SANKO BAY community centre in Portland, Jamaica. Providing jobs by hiring locals to work on the construction, educational and vocational resources such as, Laptops, books, stationary, WIFI, a recording studio set up, Projectors, CDJs to DJ with, Postal services for start up companies and more. Once the building has been reconstructed we will be providing:

The space will also be the base for Drapers Fishing Association, run by the local community to provide food and a base for meetings. They will also be teaching the youth how to fish as a key skill.

I grew up on a council estate and the community centre was my home, it was where I felt safe to express myself, I was able to mix with other kids in my community outside of school, educate myself on other cultures, use the computers, educational resources and studio. Having somewhere to go, a place that supported me, gave me so much more confidence. I had a mentor who I could talk to about school, how I felt, my future and goals, how to reach them and more, I had a support network.

Previously I worked with children aged 3 and up, teaching dance and basic biology and saw how quickly kids learn. I believe it's extremely important they have the resources in place to be able to learn, as they are the future of this world and I fear the consequences for the future generation due to a lack of community spaces, which is why we need to make a change.

Now I am co-founder of BOSSY LDN, a female-led record label and creative DJ duo paving the way to push equality, to breakdown pre-existing ideologies of the role of women in music, to connect culture, music and fashion, to highlight creators, to create opportunities for the next generation and contribute to the community.

Staying at the forefront of music, means over the last 5 years, we have worked with an array of talented artists and producers, including Megan Thee Stallion, SZA, Smokepurpp, The Internet, ABRA, JGrrey, Octavian, Ama Lou and Doja Cat to name a few. All by means of connecting, creating and showcasing.

I am of Jamaican heritage and I feel passionate about taking Fear-Less to my second home. I’ve spent a lot of time in Portland to reconnect with my roots, falling in love with the colours, energy and sheer amount of talent of the people. I want to provide the youth with resources and a safe place to learn and create, by tailoring programmes and workshops to the needs of residents in Portland, Jamaica, as well as giving career and work opportunities to more Jamaicans.

WHY:

LACK OF RESOURCES

LACK OF OPPORTUNITIES

BUSINESS, PROMOTION AND ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS AND EDUCATION

At our community space, Fear-Less will support individuals to explore business advancement through active learning, seminars and workshops. With a leadership team with deep, vested roots in the creative and entertainment sector. We now seek active support in other areas including the digital, financial, political and science arenas.

Fear-Less will cultivate a safe space to encourage the development of everyone’s excellence. We will ensure we pair the right mentors to eager mentees. We also actively recognise the Western model of education is unapologetically biased and systematically racist; often serving to polarise instead of uniting communities.

Our mission doesn’t stop there, we must be fearless with this platform to manifest greatness. By teaming up with our friends across the black diasporic landscape, we hope to cultivate business development opportunities in the Caribbean starting from our Jamaican hub, based in Portland on SANKO BAY.

Unlike Kingston, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, which vastly profit from tourism, Portland remains a hidden gem. With vast lagoons, endless beaches and waterfalls, it is an idyllic retreat. However, the lack of tourism means adults often rush to bigger towns and Parishes for work.

This leaves Fear-Less with a mission to cultivate great children. I want to encourage these little stars to have bright futures, I want to aid these kids with laptops and printers to enrich their learning and make them inquisitive about the digital economy. By setting this hub up, we encourage these children to have fun and grow into the beautiful, strong and successful adults we know they can.

And this is why we need your help - please help us make this dream into a reality for the future of this world.

Lots of love,
Izzy xx <3
