Raise Money for Jasper’s Top Surgery
Donation protected
I am a 26 year old transmasculine nonbinary person (he/they pronouns) living in the UK trying to raise money to go towards funding my top surgery.
The waiting list for the local NHS Gender Identity Clinic spans years, and that is just for the first appointment. It is even longer to actually get a referral for surgery.
Top surgery is an important gender-affirming procedure and is essential medical care. I am forced to seek private treatment for my gender dysphoria, as the impact on my mental health would be impossible to deal with for the length of time before I can see the GIC.
This fundraiser is to try to help cover part of the costs for going private for top surgery, which is very expensive.
I am autistic and suffer from anxiety and depression. I have been on HRT for a year now but changes have been very slow, I am struggling with dysphoria on a daily basis. This surgery would be lifechanging for me.
It would really help my mental well-being. Living as a transgender person in the UK is not easy as it is, but this would bring me comfort in my body.
Here is a breakdown of some of the costs I can expect for seeking top surgery privately:
- £300 for an assessment and surgery referral
- £200 for a first appointment
- £7,500-£10,000 for the surgery
This does not include transport or any other costs associated with travel or hotel stays, etc.
I welcome any donations from those who will not be stretched financially by doing so. I will be sourcing the rest of the costs for the surgery myself (hopefully through a loan/payment plan) so any contributions towards this are extremely appreciated.
