Raise Money For My Knee Reconstruction Surgery!

Hey my name is Darcy and I have set up this go fund me hoping to raise a little amount of money to help with my journey back to my passion of football and fitness.

3 Weeks ago, I unfortunately tore my right ACL, Meniscus and MCL while playing for Ascot Women's Football Team with a dislocation to my knee aswell. Sadly, this isn't the first time I had done this as in 2019 I tore my Left ACL at the age of 12 and had to wait 2 years to have surgery due to covid restrictions and complications. This meant I was completely out of action for about 3 years in total which had a negative toll on my mental health and confidence at such a young age. Fortunately, I recovered and made it back to playing 3/4 times a week for a club that I absolutely love and am glad to still be a part of today.

I have been advised by a specialist that ideally my surgery needs to be done as soon as possible in order for me to be able to return to any form of physical activity again.

My knee is structurally very unstable and over time will become unrepairable if it is left torn for too long. It is up to an 18 month wait for this surgery on the NHS, which means i will most likely have to give up my hair dressing apprenticeship aswell as sports due to the knee deteriorating over time.

My other option would be to go private and get it done as soon as possible but this would be at an expense. I feel like this is my only option in hopes that one day I will be able to return to playing football and being active.

Since receiving the devastating results of my MRI scan, a massive part of my life has been taken away from me in the blink of an eye, such an unexplainable feeling that I wouldn't wish upon anyone else. It would mean the absolute world to me to get this surgery done which is why I have made this go fund me.
