raise money to create a lasting tribute to John Beard

In March this year, we very sadly lost our wonderful John Beard aged 64 after a courageous battle with cancer. My Dad was a very selfless man who spent most of his life helping others less fortunate, he raised £1000s for various charities over the years, always backing the underdog and wanting to help others despite his own challenges.

As part of his legacy, myself, my siblings, his wife and some close family and friends are planning on continuing his fundraising work. We are planning on recreating a sponsored stretcher carry, walking 9.7 miles from his home in Doncaster back to Wath, carring a stretcher, laden with a very brave adult victim in the hope that we can raise a fabulous amount of money in my dads memory.

A sad reality in todays climate is that families are struggling to keep their heads above water and clothing is becoming less of a priority. My Dad has known tough times but he would have given you the shirt off his back, rather then see anyone struggle. With this in mind, we the family have decided that we would like to raise money to fund a clothing donation bin to be placed in our local area and it will be dedicated in loving memory of John Beard. The bin will be a vital drop off point for clothing donations to The Clothing Bank who provide packages to those in need but will also be an amazing lasting tribute to my dad. The cost of the donation bin will be £1500.
