We’re heartbroken to report that both of our pitches at Wortley RUFC were damaged in the early hours of Saturday morning. A motor vehicle was driven onto the fields, and doughnuts were performed in the middle of both pitches, leaving them in a terrible state.

Our pitches aren’t just for rugby – they’re a vital space for the entire community. They’re used by our junior teams, senior teams, women’s teams, and many others who enjoy the sport and the sense of togetherness it brings. This senseless act has not only left the pitches unplayable but has also set back years of hard work and dedication from everyone who has contributed to maintaining them.

At Wortley RUFC, we take pride in being a club that’s open to all. This act of vandalism won’t stop us from moving forward and continuing to provide a safe, welcoming environment for rugby players and the community alike.
