Raise £200,000 for New Toilet Facilities for our students
Donation protected
At Rooks Heath School, we pride ourselves on the high quality of education and resources we provide for our students. We currently offer revision resources, booklets and practice exam papers to students free of charge and of course prioritise equipping students with what they need as best we can.
Many students though have talked to us about another school provision, namely our toilet facilities; facilities are not as we would wish. We have estimated the cost of refurbishment and we are determined as a school to raise the £200,000+ needed to improve the facilities for the students without compromising on the quality of learning and resources we are able to deliver.
Across the UK, we have seen the cost of living for families increase and this has also been the case for schools. A lot of school funding is ring-fenced and can only be used for the purpose for which it has been granted; our Department for Education CIF bid for the new block to replace the old mobile block is an example of this. As a result, we are not able to fully cover the costs of the toilets within school budgets. In addition, many costs are beyond our control such as the increased costs per exam entry which you may have seen in the media, the increased cost of heating the school, as well as other costs.
Therefore we are fundraising for contributions towards improving our student facilities. As we are a diverse secondary school in London with high numbers of students receiving Free School Meals, we understand that not all families have the means to make a contribution, and we would appreciate donations of any value, no amount is too small.
Many thanks in advance to families and friends of Rooks Heath students for your support and generosity. Please share the fundraising drive with others who may wish to support the school and our students.
