Raise Their Roof!
Donation protected
Our parents, Betty and Lucas Gallegos are facing an expensive and potentially dangerous issue. They live in a small home in the Rocky Mountains. During the excessive snow this winter, part of their roof collapsed. Although they had homeowner's insurance, the company refused to pay to replace the roof. They got through the rest of winter with tarps and plastic sheeting covering the collapsed area of the house. They have lost part of their living space, been exposed to cold, AND worry about the bears in the neighborhood who might want to investigate. They are both in their 80's and give countless hours every week volunteering and cooking free meals for those in need. They feed the firefighters whenever they need help and they have provided many, many hours delivering food and other supplies to anyone who needs help. They are on a limited income but have always been known for their generosity to others. Now they need help-they do not know we are trying to help them "raise their roof". We are exploring any and all resources, and have a reliable bid through a local nonprofit for repairing the damage. It needs to happen quickly, as Colorado summers are short. We are asking everyone who can to please contribute. Share this posting with your network of friends and ask them to share it. We have a very aggressive goal of $10,000, but we feel they are very deserving. To all of our family members throughout the U.S., please, please help us spread the word. God bless you.
