Raise to Rebuild: Support for the Zim Family
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that I reach out to our family, friends, and community to support the Zimmermann Family during this grievous time. Never in a million years could I imagine such a tragedy unfolding.
On Christmas Eve, my sister and her family lost everything. Her family home, up in flames. Years of precious memories, gone. But above all, she lost her life partner, her husband, and the father of her 3 children.
This family needs our love and support right now.
If anyone knows my sister, then they know that she is the first person to jump in and help others in times of need. She’s a problem solver. She is fierce and tough. She is oh-so giving and supporting of everyone around her. She is the most selfless, caring person that I know. She is always the rock, the one who carries the burden, the one we all turn to. She always stands strong, but for just this once, I want to tell her to let me be the strong one. Just let go and let me hold you up. Let your loved ones do the hard stuff for you. You don’t have to do it all and you don’t have to do it alone.
I’m asking for everyone to please help me take this burden off of her shoulders.
Starting over…rebuilding a home…recovering after such a loss…medical expenses… funeral and memorial services… creating a sense of normalcy for these kids, whatever that might mean… the hazy list goes on and on and accomplishing all of these tasks will not be an easy feat.
We might not have all the answers right now. We might not know exactly what we need, and when we need it. We have a long road ahead of us and will need time to process everything that is happening. But please understand, with all of our hearts, that we appreciate all the love and support coming from this amazing community. I love you all. Thank you.
