Cuzena Foodies feeding families via Yemaid
Donation protected
This GoFundMe is set up via Cuzena, who are proudly supporting Yemaid.
Cuzena reached out to Suhayl after seeing his inspiring work and was instantly taken aback by his almost heroic ways of supporting people in war-torn Yemen. Sharing how larger charities are struggling to cut through the red tape in Yemen. So armed with his sheer will and just his mobile phone, Suhayl bravely went in. Secured trusted contacts to help him on the ground. Amid the risks, he bravely visits and delivers food and emergency supplies directly to the most needy which he shows via his social media pages - @suhayl_yemen.
Yemaid, founded solely and run by Suhayl Al-Sokary with only the support of kind donations provides life-changing and essential necessities to the citizens on the ground in Yemen. Every week, he amazingly utilizes just his Instagram presence, raising money to ensure the various Yemaid water tanks that Suhayl set up around Yemen are filled so young families and the most vulnerable can have access to clean drinking water and tries his best to deliver food parcels. Raising cash for life-saving operations, especially for children and the elderly. However, he can’t continue to do all this on his own! Taken back by his kindness and determination, Shadia reached out to him and Cuzena asked to help.
Wondering who Cuzena are? Cuzena is a British brand with a strong middle eastern identity. Founded by Shadia Al Hili, who has Moroccan and Yemeni heritage. The recipes introduced to her by their Yemeni father and Moroccan mother in her childhood have now made their way to the mainstream shelves. Shadia is not a chef but a foodie who feels very privileged to have been handed down middle eastern recipes which she hopes can raise visibility for Yemaid. Giving back to the very people that made them and who are currently living through such a harsh humanitarian crisis.
Cuzena is part of the food and drink industry, the most purpose-led ‘community’ of any industry. We believe regardless of the size of the organizations our common denominator is a community that was born to feed people.
Whether you are a general foodie, a founder or work within the food industry we are all ‘foodies’. Who share a collective love for food. Who are best placed to change lives with food and drink.
We Are Foodies..let's do this and Feed Families…❤
Our long-term goal is to build 2 functioning wells in Yemen which can provide ongoing fresh water to generations, a school to make sure the future generations are equipped as well as a small hospital to provide essential healthcare.
Simply: Food and water, shelter and education for current & future generations.
We are all foodies. We can do this together.
Thank you.
