Raise4Rosie and awareness of ATRT.

Donation protected

I originally set up this gofundme for the Spence family to help and support them financially and for quality time as a family. Circumstances have now changed and we need to raise as much as we can.

Rosie was diagnosed with a brain tumour in May 2021 aged 2, she had a full resection at surgery and a biopsy was taken which showed she had a grade 4 cancer called ATRT, this is a very rare, aggressive and fast growing cancer.

Rosie had 9 intense rounds of chemotherapy and 30 Proton Beam Radiotherapy treatments. She completed treatment in December 2021 and unfortunately has relapsed in February 2022 this time in her spine. This cancer unfortunately does not have a cure, and with a relapse happening so soon after it isn't great news.

Currently the UK does not have trials for ATRT so Rosie will have to travel to the USA for a trial. However the NHS do not fund for treatments abroad, this means the family will have to self fund all treatments. We have changed the target to £500k as this will hopefully cover the cost for a trial and any other additional needs.

The family thank everyone so much for all their donations and support so far.

The 5-year survival rate for ATRTs is 32.2%. It is a fast growing brain cancer. ATRT is most often diagnosed in infants 1-2 years old, they represent approximately 1-2% of all paediatric brain tumours. There is approximately 58 people diagnosed with ATRT globally each year.

Please help us spread awareness of this horrible condition, and also raise as much as we can to support the Spence’s throughout this heartbreaking time.
