Donation protected

UPDATE! Raisin Kindness 2024 is underway! Visit our websitefor details.

Teachers are starting to register for our February 2024 Raisin Kindness 2nd Annual Mission!

What do I have to do for my classroom to be a part of Raisin Kindness? It’s easy! Register using this link. Early January you will receive an official Raisin Kindness Acts of Kindness Checklist with easy kindness ideas for students to check off throughout February. These acts can be done at home, on their own time OR in the classroom as a team! At the end of February we will have you submit the completed checklists so that we can tally the winners for the huge snack bins for your classroom! Our goal for 2024 is to have these prizes for our participating classrooms made possible by our fundraising efforts and our local business sponsors:

5 Grand Prize Classroom Winners across Berks County - a super big snack bin full of classroom favorites like pretzels, goldfish, cookies, and of course our famous sour raisins!

50 Classroom Winners - (at least 1 in each school district) to win a big bin of snacks for their classroom!

NEW THIS YEAR! Participation snack bags for every registered classroom who completes at minimum of 20 kind acts (as a team) in February! *This could be as simple as every student making a “YOU ROCK” card for your janitor and decorating their closet as a surprise.

We need to fundraise $6250 to pull it off - and we know we can! Here's ways you can help:
There are 3 main ways to donate this year:

1. Online through Go Fund Me (below)

2. Purchasing one of our fundraising items from our Raisin Kindness Store (link)

  • $75 bag includes 20 Raisin Kindness Magnets and some surprises (great for surprising employees, teachers, teammates, friends, family, or neighbors with a fun magnet to spread smiles!

  • $9 Raisin Kindness Magnet & Sour Raisin Sample Bag

  • $5 Raisin Kindness Magnet

3. Snack Donations to our church Immanuel UCC of Shillington! Pretzels, Goldfish, Cookies, Raisins - things that will last a few months are great donation items! To arrange a donation drop off, please email [email redacted].

Original Story:

Colton is officially launching his Raisin Kindness Mission for February to spread kindness throughout Berks County!

To combat depression during the winter months, our local Sun-Maid Raisin Winner, Colton, has collaborated with schools, libraries, and local businesses across Berks County to create the Raisin Kindness Mission which encourages elementary & preschool students to complete acts of kindness to earn free snacks for their classroom!

Teachers must register their classrooms by Jan 31st to participate by completing this form.

Raisin Kindness Mission runs from February 1st to February 26th.

Spreading Smiles & Sharing Snacks!

This February 2023 mission was made possible by all of our local business sponsors and your donations!!! Thank you!! If you'd like to read more about it, check out our website: https://www.doitlocalberks.com/raisin

NEXT: We will fundraise to restock our raisin supply so that we can prepare for August and back-to-school refill snack bins for our teachers. If you are able, please consider donating. We invite you to make a note of which Elementary School you would like your snack bin to go to! Snack Bins cost $125 and are full of a variety of snacks! (Classroom requests can be out of Berks County - just please provide contact details). Any donation is appreciated and will put applied to your classroom's bin! We adjusted the goal on this Go Fund Me Page today so that we can raise another $5000 to buy another large bulk order from SunMaid and Unique Pretzels.

---------------------- Details on about how it all started below-----------------

Raisin Kindness is a project started by Governor Mifflin School District's Board of Imagination Winner, "Colton from Mohnton," to spread kindness through snacks to all of our elementary school kids at Brecknock, Mifflin Park, and Cumru Elementary School, as well as Immanuel Preschool for the 2022-2023 school year. Through his Board Term with Sun-Maid and love for Unique Pretzels, Colton is on a mission to provide snacks for these GM young students, complete with a special message of love & kindness.

"During school, sometimes all you need is a little snack to turn your day around - or a kind message to make you smile.  So I want to spread smiles and kindness through delicious snacks to all our GM Elementary Schools and beyond!" - Colton.

Fundraiser Updates:
  • 9/8 The initial 55 Teacher Bins have been filled and distributed to Cumru, Mifflin Park, and Immanuel Preschool.
  • 9/12 The Kindness Mission with Littlest Lady Cares cards officially launched at all schools involved!
  • 12/13, we refilled all of the bins at Cumru Elementary School, Mifflin Park Elementary School, and Immanuel Preschool. Thanks to our private donors and large donations from Redner's Fresh Markets, Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials, and Do It Local Berks!
The best news? We are officially expanding beyond Governor Mifflin in 2023! Visit our Raisin Kindness website for more information on the Raisin Kindness Mission that will take place between January 23rd to February 23rd.

More about Colton:
" Hi, I am Colton! I am excited to start my term on the Board of Imagination at Sun-Maid Raisins in the fall for the 2022-2023 School Year. Part of my prize was winning snacks for a year for my elementary school, Brecknock! I am on a mission to raise enough funds to share SunMaid Raisin Sour Raisins & Unique Pretzel snacks with Cumru, Mifflin Park, and Immanuel Preschool!

With the help of my family, my church, and our friends at Littlest Lady Cares and #imkinderthanthat we have created a monthly kindness mission complete with stickers & fun to encourage kindness all school year long! The idea is to spread smiles through snacks and kindness together!”
