Raising awareness around male suicide

Hello, my name is Nathan and I am creating this fundraiser in honour of our dear friend Nick Morgan, who sadly took his own life in Jan 2024. Nick was 43 years old and had a passion for music, gigs, making friends where ever he could. He was a kind, generous, and fun-loving person who always looked out for everyone and made people smile. He touched the lives of many people and left a lasting impression on me and others who knew him.

Nick's death has left a huge void in our hearts and we miss him terribly. We want to do something meaningful to remember him and to help prevent other men from suffering the same fate. That is why we are raising money for James Place, a male suicide charity that provides support, counselling, and intervention for men who are struggling with their mental health. Their mission is to reduce the number of male suicides in the UK and to raise awareness of this issue.

Our goal is to raise £2500, which will fund a full male intervention programme for one person. This programme includes a helpline, a personal mentor, a tailored action plan, and access to a network of professionals and peers. This could make a huge difference to someone who is feeling hopeless and alone, and potentially save their life.
