Raising funds to buy our gym a Defibrillator

Hyrox Manchester 2024 actually saved our friends life.

November 2024 at the Manchester Hyrox, our friend Ashley was competing in his first ever Hyrox as a solo. Ash is a very healthy fit young man who takes very good care of himself. He eat’s well, sleeps well, trains in our gym consistently, runs and bikes all over the UK, the list goes on for Ashley’s adventures.

On Saturday 9th November Ashley was smashing through his comp and finished it in 1hr 16mins. Shortly after the race ended, Ashley realised something wasn’t right with his chest after noticing his heart rate peaked to 220 and the pains in his chest were getting stronger. Adrenaline was wearing off and he just knew he needed to seek help. The amazing paramedics team attended to ash and they knew Ashley needed medical attention. Ashley was having a heart attack.

After undergoing medical help and the need of defibrillator, multiple clots were found.

Ashley is resting up in hospital undergoing tests and further treatment but is on the mend.

If Ashley wasn’t to have done a Hyrox, he still would be none the wiser of everything going on inside his body.

As a result of everything Ashley has just gone through, as a team we’ve decided a defibrillator has never been needed more in our gym.
