Raising funds and spirits for Randy the bus driver
Donation protected
Randy Trayah, affectionately known as “Randy the bus driver” is a long-time special needs school bus driver in Burlington, Vermont. In addition to serving these students, he is a diligent father who spends time at home caring for his adult son with special needs. Randy has carried that care and compassion from home to work every day. The support he shows every child on his bus is amazing! He knows the accomplishments and ambitions that the kids share with him are important, and always remembers to check in with students and ask them how they went. He also makes time to connect with coworkers, asking about their well-being, how their kids are doing, or how their jobs are going. Everyone who knows Randy knows he is the first one to step up to help anyone at work, at home, or in the community, cracking a good dad joke in the process.
After rarely missing a day of work in the last 10 years, Randy has faced some tremendous medical issues in the last six months. Though he cannot drive or work much, he still shows up when he can, and talks to the kiddos on the radio to bring smiles to their faces. He also has figured out a way to support co-workers from a place other than the bus seat. We want to give Randy a hand up to support him like he would do for any one of us, until he is back full-time spreading the infectious laughter to everyone that has the pleasure of working with him. As Randy always says, "Any day in the District is good gosh darn day," so let’s jump on this opportunity to help Randy while he is healing so the financial burden does not impede his healing and recovery.
