Raising funds for Bannock Express’s Sudden Move
Bannock Express is need of urgent assistance.
A few months ago Bannock Express’s and the landlord agreed to extend their lease to 7 years because Bannock Express needed to upgrade the kitchen to pass a health & fire inspection.
The seven year lease and kitchen upgrade was an investment Bannock Express was going to make to stay in the Riversale community area and to continue giving back through their donation wall program.
Recently, Bannock Express and Investors paid over $65 thousand to upgrade Bannock Express’s current kitchen to include a fire suppression system and hooded vented stove. A regulation required by the city to operate. And, which was not previously mentioned by the Landlord as a requirement at the signing of the lease. Despite a restaurant being in the kitchen previously.
On New Year’s Day the Landlord tried to lock Bannock Express out without proper notice.
We have not had time to plan our next location, or plan for our sudden move. I am just recovering for Christmas with my 9 children and the slow down after Christmas. My business has taken a major hit with the 4th wave and making this large investment of $77 thousand into this kitchen for seven years. Everyone has already been paid a few months ago for the kitchen upgrade.
Since the sudden move Bannock Express is out thousands of dollars for blueprints provided for kitchen upgrades. We are still waiting to find out the full extend of damage, the sudden move will cost my business extensive revenue loss in the middle of a pandemic.
Bannock Express is currently raising funds for their next move via go fund me. They are worried their landlord will try to lock them out again with any notice.
The outpouring of community support has been amazing. We have had other kitchen offer up their kitchens temporarily, we have had other agents reach out regarding their properties. We have had people calling the Restaraunt to offer their support.
We have found a promising location however it won’t be ready till the spring. Again, This is also concern for our business. As we may need to close down for several months.
We are now accepting donations for our new lease, upgraded kitchen equipment we will need for our new location.
We will need legal representation to recover some of the money we lost. The blueprints for the project were very expensive.
We want to Thank you from the owners, team & children of Bannock Express.
