In October 2021, five powerful and diverse women singers – Alison St Ledger, Yani Mills, Ingrid James, Karen Anderson and Laura James - had the opportunity to showcase the depth and breadth of Joni Mitchell’s catalogue in our sold-out headline show, The Genius of Joni Mitchell at the Brisbane Vocal Jazz Festival.

 

After months of musical isolation, The Genius of Joni Mitchell enabled us to reconnect with our community by presenting beloved favourites and hidden gems from Clouds, Ladies of the Canyon, Blue, and The Hissing of Summer Lawns (to name a few) that demonstrate Joni’s unparalleled ability to interweave the personal and universal themes of love, loss and life.

By popular demand, we are thrilled to announce that The Genius of Joni Mitchell will return on 19 March 2022, this time at The Old Museum for CABFEST2022 (Queensland Cabaret Festival).

 

In collaboration with CABFEST 2022, we are continuing to work hard behind the scenes to elevate The Genius of Joni Mitchell to the next level.

 

But we need your support to make it sustainable!

 

Your financial contribution will go towards:

 

• Commissioning 4 to 6 new arrangements of beloved Joni songs, to expand and diversify the repertoire

 

• Facilitating a rehearsal for 10 professional Brisbane-based musicians

 

• Producing a professional live audio-visual recording and post-production of the performance on 19 March 2022 at The Old Museum

 

• Creating marketing material to spread the word about the show that can be shared on social media, including a promotional video giving a ‘backstage pass’ into the process of bringing the show to life

 

As our way of saying thank you, all names of donators will be credited at the end of the film recording of the performance, unless you wish to remain anonymous.
