Raising Funds Honoring the Memory of Cayetana ‘Tanny’ Tejada.
Dear Family & Friends & Anybody who is willing & able to help .
My sister & I are appealing to your kind hearts to assist in the final farewell of a wonderful & kind person when she was still with us. Her name is Cayetana ‘Tanny’ Tejada , 74 years old. She was diagnosed with ESRD (end stage renal disease). Prior to her diagnosis she worked as a caregiver. She was well loved by her patients & their families due to her dedication & very caring attitude. She was passionate about her work. She sent most of her earned income to her family in the Philippines leaving only enough for her expenses & some savings for emergency purposes. After the diagnosis she needed to be on dialysis. She went into depression. She suffered from the side effects of hemodialysis. Her body just can’t seem to handle the hemodialysis. There were numerous times she was in a state of confusion, unresponsive, fainting spells & low blood pressures. She even fainted on the street on her way home. Luckily she was still in the vicinity of the medical center where a doctor saw her & assisted her to safety. She had been taken to the emergency room countless times due to these episodes, so she decided to go back home to the Philippines & spend the rest of her days with her dearly beloved family. There was one drawback to this plan, she has to find somebody to accompany her. She has grown very weak & can hardly take care of herself. When she finally had somebody to travel with, she immediately bought her plane ticket. But unfortunately 3 days before their departure date , she suffered a cardiac arrest. She spent almost 2 weeks in the ICU ( intensive care unit ) unconscious & attached to a ventilator. She looked so pitiful with all the tubes & IV’s on her. The doctors constantly updated her family about her condition thru video messenger. The family decided it was time to let her go & let their beloved mother, grandmother to have a peaceful rest.
She was out of work for several years, at least 4 years that we know off. She depleted all her savings for food, lodging & personal expenses, so my sister & I decided to do a fundraiser to help pay for her funeral expenses & a month’s rental for her lodging. Any amount will truly help during this difficult time & will be greatly appreciated. May God bless you all !!!
