Raising Gashaw Tefere Abebe
As an Eritrean I visited Lalibela, Ethiopia in 2016. I met a young boy on the street named Gashaw, he was very kind to me and offered to show me around Ethiopia. He had no family and was sleeping on the street. He had a positive attitude even though life took him to rock bottom at an early age.
I asked him what he wanted and he said he wanted most of all to return to school. Which was a surprise for me because, I was thinking how can a boy so disadvantaged even think about his education. He was my inspiration and it was my pleasure to be there for him in his time of need. I paid for his high school education to include uniforms, school supplies, and food.
Years later, a great dead never goes unnoticed. He contacted me with the best news. He is going to university on scholarship in Poland, and has most things figured out already. He now is missing, money for his flight. I could not let the opportunity pass me without helping him again, therefore I am raising money for his flight and life expenses. This is someone I can say I changed his life and now its up to you to continue to change it!
