Raising Hope and Funds for Jerry Nave (aka Coach)
Donation protected
Hi, we are introducing ourselves as the children, grandchildren, and sons-in-law because this is not a fundraiser for us. The main man is Jerry Nave, many know him by the name Coach, loved ones know him as Papo or Dad. He is a 74-year-old retired softball, baseball, football, basketball, and coach, educator, and veteran. He’s coached/taught at all different age ranges, and it has always been his love and passion to work with the youth. Coach has been with his beautiful wife, Victoria, for 30 years and they have four amazing children. He is also, a grandfather (Papo) to seven grandchildren and a great-grandfather to five, soon to be six, great grandbabies. Jerry would say he has had the pleasure of watching each one of them grow and has been lucky enough to coach most of the grandkids and even some of my kids and/or their spouses. Now, to get down to why we, his loved ones have decided to create this GoFund me. Two years ago, Jerry was diagnosed with Metastatic Prostate Cancer. After a lifelong career of teaching and coaching at All Souls Parochial, Sheridan High School, Columbine, and Cumberland University, we all knew he was not ready to give up and let cancer defeat him. Therefore, Coach and Victoria moved to Texas to be closer to some but not all their kids and grandkids for moral support. We all knew it was going to be a long road ahead for him with multiple doctor’s appointments, days of illness, and endless therapy treatments. But no one could ever prepare him or us for this cancer journey and the financial burden that it brings along with it. As some of you may know that a pension of a retired educator does not support the medical bills and the medications that is needed for those fighting this horrible disease. We have helped him apply for financial grants that have helped relieve some of the financial burden but it’s just not enough. He is not the type of person to ask for help at all! He is the person you can lean on and the one that stands up and volunteers to help family, friends, and the community. So, we are asking for him, for any help from his fellow family, friends, and community. Any donations are greatly appreciated to go towards his medications and lifelong treatments. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read this and for any contributions and your support. God Bless.
