Raising $$$ in celebration of our beloved dog Dre
Tax deductible
I hope this message touches your heart as much as it pains mine to write it.
Our beloved dog Dre, who had been my best friend and confidant for years, recently passed away. The house feels empty without his joyful barks and wagging tail, and my heart feels the weight of his absence every single day.
Dre was more than just a pet; he was a beacon of love, joy, and unwavering loyalty. He had this incredible ability to sense when someone needed comfort and would always be there, tail wagging, ready to offer a loving nuzzle or a playful bark.
But Dre's story began long before he came into my life. He was a rescue from San Francisco, abandoned and left to fend for himself on the streets. It was thanks to a local pet rescue that Dre was able to find us and embark on our wonderful journey together. The love and care they provided him before he became a part of my family turned his life around, and for that, I will be forever grateful.
In Dre's memory, we wish to give back to our local Pet Rescue, SPCA of Texas. We've started this GoFundMe to raise funds in Dre's name and every penny will go towards ensuring that more animals like Dre have a chance at a loving home, and that the shelters have the resources they need to care for them until they find their forever families.
As added motivation, my training partner Rishi Mehra and I are training for the BMW Half-Marathon in Dallas on December 10th (this is a first for us both) and we have decided to match donations based on these goals:
Main Goal - On completion of the Half-Marathon, we will each pledge 50% of all donations received by December 10th.
Stretch Goal - If we are able to complete the half-marathon in under 2 hours, we will add $100 for each minute under 2 hours.
Please consider making a donation, big or small, to keep Dre's legacy alive. Not only will you be helping animals in need, but you'll also be honoring the memory of a dog who brought immeasurable happiness to our lives.
By giving, we can ensure that many more pets get their second chance at love, just like Dre did.
