Raising Money for Baba

I hope this message finds you well.

You may have heard the sad news that Gene Budjak (husband of Joanne Budjak for over 40 years) passed away peacefully in Kelowna, BC, on July 15th , 2023, at the age of 79 years old.

Gene had struggled for years with debilitating Ankle pain and recent serious health issues, which greatly affected his overall quality of Life. Despite the pain and challenges, Gene still had a big smile, a warm hug, and a firm handshake for all of those that knew him and loved him. His wife Joanne (a.k.a Baba) has spent most of her time over the last few years selflessly caring for Gene meanwhile aided herself from two major surgeries (Colectomy & Back) and has recently

been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. To make matters worse Gene and Joanne had a flood in their suite back in December and were just in the process of getting back to some kind of normalcy. With the sudden passing of Gene, Joanne is now faced with even more uncertainty

with respect to what life looks like without him physically, emotionally, and unfortunately financially.

At this time, we are asking all those friends and family who might be able to help raise some funds to assist her with the costs of funeral arrangements and to help offset some living costs that she will be faced with on her own , now that Gene has passed. We understand that these are tough times for many, but we are hoping that there are some who can help Joanne, so that she can take some time to rest prior to her radiation treatments and most important grieve withoutthe burden of finances.
