A New Viola For Julia
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Julia Seabron and I am a 17 year old violist at the Merit School of Music.
It is my desire to become a professional viola player. I began playing the viola at the age of eight years old and I absolutely love it. I study at Merit and am also part of the Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative (CMPI). The goal of this program is to help diversify professional orchestras by providing resources and instruction to student musicians of diverse backgrounds, to prepare them for a career in orchestral music. As a violist, I currently play in the Merit Philharmonic and a chamber ensemble. I also study with Danny Lai, my private lesson teacher, from the CSO.
Although I am striving to become a professional violist, without a good instrument, it will be even more difficult for me to achieve my goals. I will be auditioning for colleges and conservatories soon and it will be necessary for me to have a good instrument to play on and have throughout my college career. With a better instrument, I believe that I will grow immensely as a musician, be inspired to work harder, and have a better chance at success. Unfortunately, my family is currently financially unable to purchase the viola I would need. I realize that instruments are expensive and a huge investment. I would be so grateful for any donation received towards the purchase of my viola. By giving, please know that you are not only making a donation to me for the purchase of a viola, but you are investing in my dreams and my future as a professional violist.
With music, I desire to make people happy by playing the viola. With the appropriate instrument, I believe that I will not only be able to do that, but even more. Thank you for your consideration!
I would also like to thank everyone who has donated to my gofundme and shared it! I appreciate your generosity very much. We are more than 1/3 of the way there! Please continue to share this with friends and family. Thank you all so much again!
