Raising money for Ossie's Gardens @ Watford General Hospital

Donation protected
Ossie lost his battle at the age of eleven. His outlook on life was to ‘Never Give Up’ and that outlook was applied right up to the end of his fight. Even through the darkest and most painful days he always had a smile on his face would often say ‘It’s not that deep’. Quite simply he was and still is an inspiration to many many people and even those who he had never met. His dreams and passions live on in others and we want to keep his spirit alive, his legacy to live on and to be remembered as our warrior forever. Ossie’s main passion in life was football. His determination for playing and watching football kept him going, he even managed to play in a match after a week of undergoing gruelling and horrendous chemotherapy. We have held a football tournament in Ossie’s name for the past few years called the ‘Ossie Cup’ and have raised money for various charities. This year is the 7th anniversary since Ossie grew his wings and we have decided this year to raise money towards a 5-year plan for a project at Watford General Hospital called Ossie’s Gardens. We are working alongside the charity that raise money for West Herts Hospitals, Raise. This will be a garden within the hospital for children to enjoy whilst they spend time in hospital. Away from the machines and busy hospital life with their family, friends and staff. Ossie spent many moments in such gardens and was a place for some kind of peace and normality. The first event is being held on 26th May 2024 at Everett Rovers Football Club, Watford and we are planning a family fun day with music, food, entertainment and much more to go alongside and after the football tournament, all for the local community.

Please also spread the word about our event and come along! To read more about Ossie’s journey and future up and coming events please go to www.ossieboysfund.co.uk.
