Raising Money For The Leukaemia Foundation
I am raising funds and awareness for The Leukaemia Foundation.
For all funds raised between now and 31 December 2024 my family will match every dollar donated up to $100,000. This means that come 1 Jan 2025 we are aiming to donate $200,000 (and more) with your generous support!
My Story:
I was diagnosed with leukaemia on 14 October 2023. Since that day it has been a rollercoaster. It started with being in ICU for a couple of weeks. I’ve now had two rounds of chemo and have a stoma bag (that we’ve named Stevie). My rectum and part of my bowel were removed earlier this year (both have sadly deteriorated).
Update in November 2024: I recently had my bone marrow transplant and it has so far gone smoothly. I have been given good news and Doctors have told me that I am in remission (they don't like saying 'cancer free' until you've been in remission >2 years).
My story ends with me surviving. It is a positive ending. I am one of the lucky ones that will continue to kick cancer in the butt.
I have been surrounded my a huge amount of support from family and friends. But not everyone has the support that I have been fortunate enough to have as I battle blood cancer, and many rely extremely heavily on amazing foundations like The Leukaemia Foundation.
I truly believe there needs to be a better way, and that is why I am raising funds.
Par For A Purpose (Mon 16 Dec)
As an additional initiative towards this campaign, my close mate Branden will play 115 holes of Golf in a day (a hole every 7.5 minutes). Starting at 5:30am, with 865 minutes of sunlight thats 6.3 rounds of golf and ~65kms of walking. HUGE!
Get involved by donating (we will match donations dollar to dollar), and come support on Mon 16 Dec at Bayview Golf Club.
The Bloody 24: (Fri 1 Nov - Sat 2 Nov)
As an additional effort to raise awareness and funds my close mate (and legend) Tom will be running 24 laps of the Bay Run in Sydney over an intense 24 hour period from 6pm Friday 1 November to 6pm Saturday 2 November.
24 laps, 24 hours of running. Everyone is welcome to join in for one lap or for all 24! And if you donate through this page, we will match and double your donation.
Update: This run contributed a huge ~$8K towards this campaign.
