Raising money to build a house in South Africa

So, after some thought and consideration I’ve made the decision that I’ll be returning to South Africa with CoCos Foundation in July. It’s been 5 years since I went the first time round, and it hasn’t stopped playing back in my mind.

Travel expenses have been paid for by myself, so I’m raising as much of the £1,800 as I can for the trip, and to help in doing so I’ll be attempting to jog the ‘50KM Ultra Marathon’ in Chichester on the 15th June.

Your donations will go towards the equipment and materials needed to build the house we’ll be building ourselves, as well as food and supplies that we’ll be handing out to local communities, schools and churches and providing lots of other things for the locals.

Being over there in 2018, seeing how different communities live, how their everyday life differs so much from ours and how the simplest things make them so happy, is such a grounding life experience, and you really learn to appreciate the little things in life you’d usually take for granted.

As part of the trip, we’ll be building a house for a not so fortunate family, who at the moment live in a hut made of nothing more than branches, rocks, mud a d any resources they can find.

We’ll also be going around to local schools and communities to help feed the kids, drop off food packages and supplies while being given an insight into what the charity does for the local people.
