Raising money to buy a used car

I received the news from my mechanic last week  that it is time to find a replacement for my beloved “White Star Dakini” mobile as its’ motor is losing compression after 273,000 miles and it will cost too much to fix.   As I do not have the savings, nor the credit, available to buy a new used car I am opting to set up a go fund me campaign to raise the funds.  

Based on my on-line searches in the last several days I have found that a low mileage older vehicle in very good condition, comparable to the 1998 Honda CR-V I am replacing, will cost between $4,000 and $6,000.

I live in Taos, NM and am self-employed as a property care taker. Because of the nature of my work  it is critical that I have a reliable vehicle for my continued employment and financial security here.  My mechanic was unable to tell me how long my current car will continue to run but based on the rate of deterioration in performance recently I anticipate I have 2 weeks to find a new used car.  

Asking publicly for financial support is a challenging experience for me as I work hard to maintain my simple life style here without depending on others to care for me.   As my options are limited I have decided to get over my pride and ask for your support in reaching my goal.
