Raising Money to Make 'L'aura'

Hi,

I'm Henry Truitt Harshaw, a young filmmaker. While I Have to Tell You Something is in its final stages of post-production (expect it within the next few weeks!), I'm trying to raise funding for my new film L'aura, now in pre-production. It's a comedy set in a coffee shop in New York City, driven by a series of daydreams the main character has while he works on his novel and obsesses about a pretty girl who is also a regular there. These daydreams have different settings and aesthetics, and many of them parody specific films and genres. I'm excited to play around with various cameras, lenses, and film stocks to capture these looks, but these things can get expensive. (Wait... Making a movie? Expensive?????? No one told me!!!!) My goal is to raise $5,000 to help cover the cost of locations, crew, and equipment.

The film is both tiny and enormous in scope. The story is small and mainly happens in one character's imagination, but it is also an homage to cinema and literature the artistic process, and the duality between art/fantasy and reality. My creative decisions are very deliberate, and every dollar I spend goes toward telling this story more effectively.
