Mosque was run by ATFA (American Turkish Friendship Association) and now because of pandemic resulting in depletion of funds, ATFA is forced to put it in the market for sale as they are unable to make the mortgage payments.
We, the local muslim community, have begun the process of registering a nonprofit organization (ISLAMIC CENTER OF EASTERN SHORE) and have started an effort to raise $320,000 in order to buy the property to keep its doors open as a mosque.
