Raising £200 for RNLI 200th birthday

This year, the RNLI celebrates its 200th anniversary, and to mark the occasion, the Sefton Lifeguard team will be taking part in a biathlon on September 1st. The event will include an 800m swim followed by a 5k run. Our goal is to raise £200 to support the lifesaving work that the RNLI does.

From May to September, our lifeguards are stationed at Formby, Ainsdale, and Southport beach to protect the public from potential dangers. At Crosby beach, lifeguards are on duty year-round, even on Christmas Day.

In 2023 alone, RNLI lifeboat and lifeguard teams saved 355 lives, and lifeguards responded to 10,826 incidents across the UK.

Join us in celebrating the RNLI's 200th anniversary by helping the Sefton lifeguards reach our £200 goal!

The funds raised will be used to fund the RNLI work across the UK coastline.
