Raising Reward to Bring Justice for Tamara Clayton.
My sister, Tamara "Tammy" Clayton a Postal Service employee of 25 years, while driving to work Monday Night on February 4th, was fatally shot near Cicero Avenue in Oak Forest, IL on I-57 expressway. Tamara Clayton, of Country Club Hills, was found dead in the driver’s seat of multiple gunshot wounds to the head. As of today, there have been no suspects or arrests.
No one has come forward with any leads and although there were cameras in the area, they do not read or record vehicles on I-57, only live stream for traffic updates. There have been over 40 shootings and fatalities in the last 3 years including two more shootings as of March 16th with no advances in legislation to change this reoccuring issue. The Illinois State Police asked that anyone who witnessed the shooting or have any knowledge to contact the agency at [phone redacted].
Our family including Tammy's only daughter are seeking funds for the following:
- create a reward to obtain information and the arrest leading to the trial and conviction of the perpetrator(s).-obtain a billboard on I-57 and flyers to visually keep the public aware of the safety risk.
- to build a coalition to create legislation to provide recording and readable cameras on I-57. We cannot allow Tammy's death to be in vain. We will not let the person(s) who killed her to be able to kill others and have our community living in constant fear. Please help us fight for Tammy!
