Thanks for stopping by!
Our vision
To provide a safe place for troubled young people to find healing.
What we do
RHR is a safe place for troubled young people to come find healing. We offer a combination of structure, professional therapy, and horsemanship. Love for God and a desire to be an agent of His healing guide us in all we do. Little did any of us realize where this would go, but God has led, and we now have multiple young people enrolled and more on the waiting list.
How can you help?
We have signed a contract to buy 31.8 acres with a house on it. We have 50 days to raise the needed funds. A number of nice donations have already come in. Thank you to everyone who has already given! We are inviting you to help in this rewarding work of healing lives, touching hearts and offering hope!
How we got here
Quite a few years ago a couple of girls started dreaming. One of them (Sharla Nightengale) became very interested in horses especially when she learned about how troubled children benefit from interacting with horses. The other girl (Lora Unruh) has always loved children and has long dreamed of having a big house full of children who come from difficult places needing extra care. As these girls became aware of each other's dreams it seemed good to join forces in making a difference in the lives of children with challenges. They asked a few couples from their home congregation to be on their board of directors, became a non-profit organization in 2015 and Raising Hope Ranch was born. Children from the community started coming to the Ranch for therapy session with horses. But it soon became apparent there is a great need within our own conference. Parents started calling requesting help for their children. The girls started pouring their hearts into these children. Slowly but surely, one by one, miracles have been happening, healing takes place, battles are won and children return home ready to face life with a healthy outlook. Many people have given of themselves over the years to make RHR what it is. Thank you to each one! Most of all we are thankful to God for His direction and grace. We are excited to see where He will lead in the future.
