Raleigh International Costa Rica Expedition 2024

Hi, my name is Robyn and I'm fundraising for my Raleigh International expedition to Costa Rica in 2024.

The money I raise will help Raleigh International continue to create lasting change and transform lives in some of the world’s poorest communities.

Raleigh works at a grassroots level. This means working in partnership with rural communities and local organisations to make small changes that can have a big impact. The money I raise will go towards a number of different types of projects but always focuses on three main areas: access to safe water and sanitation, protecting vulnerable environments and building resilient communities.

I will be travelling to Costa Rica in June 2024 to spend 12 weeks volunteering across the country as a Volunteer Manager. As a volunteer manager, not only will I be working on projects, I will also be supporting the young volunteers (ages 16-24) on their expeditions as well as taking on an extended role as a Photographer.

Volunteering as a photographer I will be working 7 days a week, visiting different sites and projects across the country, documenting the amazing volunteer work and the impact it has on local communities. These photographs will be shared and used to spread awareness of the organisation and its mission.

Photography has been a creative outlet of mine for over 10 years and to have been given this opportunity is a humbling experience; being able to use my passion to make a difference is unbelievable.

The money raised on this page does not directly fund my individual placement, nor does it cover the cost of my participation. The costs of developing and running the programme are met through a combination of grants, corporate partnerships, the efforts of Raleigh's fundraising team, alumni and volunteers fundraising like myself.

I will be covering the cost of my own flights, visa, insurance and medical.
