Rally Behind the Welches - Help with Medical Costs
Donation protected
On March 11th my nephew Joaquín Welch, a high school senior, sustained a serious injury while playing baseball with his beloved Bowie Bulldogs. Running at full speed, he collided with a fence post while reaching to catch a ball. The impact with the post caused significant internal damage to his left side. In excruciating pain, Joaquín was rushed via ambulance to Dell Seton Medical center where he underwent emergency surgery to remove both his spleen and his left kidney. After a night of monitoring in the ICU, Joaquín underwent a second surgery to re-inspect for any additional damages after the internal swelling subsided.
Monica and Bill are selfless supporters of others that never hesitate to lend a hand, offer a meal or donate to those in need. They are also not ones to ever ask for anything. As we all know, out of pocket medical costs - even when you have medical insurance - can be financially overwhelming. I know they have a wonderful extended baseball (and basketball and soccer and football!) family. Let's rally behind the Welches and help them alleviate this financial stress so they can focus on supporting Joaquín as he recovers from this serious injury.
Please consider donating to help my sister and brother-in-law defray the out of pocket medical costs associated with this unfortunate injury.
