Rally for Aliyah Waldon's Cancer Battle

Support Aliyah Waldon and her family in her fight against Cancer.
Let's rally behind this beautiful queen, who is a true warrior, team player and leader (both on and off the court), and most importantly an amazing person. She has a strong will to beat this unforeseen speedbump on her path to greatness.
Ali is a 19 year old D1 Volleyball player at Mercer University. She is a “Dean's list” student majoring in psychology to help children dealing with trauma, but most importantly an amazing person with a beautiful heart. She is just beginning her sophomore year of college and excited for how she can impact the world around her.
Over the summer Ali developed some minor hip pain that quickly became more consistent keeping her up at night. After a quick MRI to check for any minor injuries before beginning her season, she got news that she nor her family could prepare for.
Ali endured multiple weeks of testing, bone biopsies, PET scans, meeting with specialists and surgeons at Moffitt Cancer Center. It was determined that she has Osteosarcoma, with a 6 inch tumor in her femur/hip area.
She will be undergoing at least 9 months of treatment which will include fertility treatments to spare her eggs for future children, multiple rounds of chemo and then surgery to place a rod in her femur along with partial hip replacement. Subsequently, she will have to undergo more chemo and possible radiation therapy to provide her the best possible outcome. This is in addition to extensive physical therapy to regain motion in her leg and hopefully get her back on the court where she belongs.
Anyone that knows Ali knows she is strong willed and a fighter, and this has just fueled her fire to come back even stronger. This unforeseeable situation has only strengthened her faith in God and that HE has a plan. Her belief stands strong that HE is guiding her in her desire to fulfill her major to help children dealing with trauma.
It will be a long road to her recovery with many ups and downs, but she is in fantastic hands with an amazing medical team.
Please keep Ali in your prayers along with her medical team handling her care. Ali is raised by a single mother and this treatment is expected to cost upwards of $150K when all is said and done. Every penny will help Ali fight this disease and overcome this incredible obstacle. Forever grateful for everyone’s love, support and prayers for our Queen of the court!
