Trying to raise funeral and burial expenses for Cindy Sue Ackiss
09/11/1957 Wife, mother of 2, and grandmother of 3. Deceased at 67 years old.
My name is Charles Shaw. I’m currently a supervisor at a company that accomplishes fabrications of assemblies and US Navy ship repairs in all repair yards and Navy installations in the Norfolk and surrounding areas.
My coworker Allan Ackiss and friend lost his wife in her sleep overnight 1/26, 1/27. He called me at 2:15 am. I honestly thought he was calling in sick because we had to cut the day short the week prior, and he was my welder. I was worried about him, so I had followed him to the emergency room the week prior as he was short of breath and needed a breathing treatment. He told me his wife had died in her sleep. It brought many tears to my eyes hearing some of the first words from a man, a husband, who lost his wife.
He has told me they have no life insurance, and he does not have the money to pay for her services or burial. She did not want to be cremated, but since a burial is so expensive, around $25,000, and a cremation is still outside his means, that’s the best he could hope for. I’m trying to help. I am going to help as best I can, but I’m one man, so I thought I’d try to see if anyone who had the means, no matter how small, could help a man say goodbye to his wife in a loving, respectful, caring way.
