Rally for Darrion's Recovery

Dear Community,

This isn't just a story; it's a call to action and a plea for help for one of our own in his hour of need.

Darrion Jackson—our cherished co-worker, a loyal friend, and a beacon of kindness—found his life irrevocably changed the night of July 21st when he left his apartment to pick up his girlfriend Jenna from work. As he was approaching his Kia Optima in the parking lot of his apartment complex, he spotted two individuals actively attempting to steal it. In the ensuing confrontation a third person, stationed as a "lookout" for the others, opened fire.

Darrion was then hit by a hollow-point bullet in his right leg, shattering his femur and wreaking devastating damage to his leg.

Having lost his phone in the ordeal, Darrion was faced with no option but to painstakingly seek assistance by making his way to a number of his neighbor's doors. Thankfully, a good Samaritan spotted Darrion and called for help.

Once he was admitted to the emergency room, Darrion underwent an operation to remove the metal fragments from his leg and reconstruct his femur using a rod.

This horrific incident has left Darrion not only with physical scars and a painful road ahead but also with mounting medical bills, looming recovery expenses, and a living situation that is no longer viable or safe for him or his girlfriend.

While Darrion fights for his physical recovery, he shouldn’t have to worry about the daunting financial hurdles that lie ahead.

We've launched this GoFundMe campaign with a goal of $25,000 to help Darrion navigate this difficult chapter and provide him with the financial cushion he will need during his recovery.

Specifically, we are aiming to provide the following financial assistance to Darrion through this campaign:

In addition to the needs specific to Darrion's recovery, we are also setting a stretch goal of $4,500 to assist Darrion and Jenna with something they've been working toward in recent months: helping Jenna find a car of her own. With the $2,000 Jenna has already saved toward a car, this stretch goal amount can help provide her with a safe and suitable vehicle, including registration and insurance.
