My name is Thomas Catomer. I’m reaching out with something heavy on my heart. One of our players, Emma Pacheco, is facing a life challenge that no child—or family—should have to endure. Just a few days ago, Emma played an entire game, giving it her all, even though she was experiencing shortness of breath. The next day, her family took her in to get checked, thinking it might be something minor. What followed changed everything.
Doctors discovered a collapsed lung, and further scans revealed something far more serious—a mass. That mass has been diagnosed as T-Lymphoblastic Leukemia/Lymphoma.
Emma is only in 6th grade. She’s the youngest on her 13U Rawlings Tigers team, and anyone who’s seen her play knows she’s got heart, hustle, and rare athletic talent. Her dad, Saul, is one of our coaches. His other daughter plays on the 16U Orange team. This family has poured into our organization, and now, it’s our turn to pour back.
We’re organizing a 24-hour Hit-A-Thon fundraiser on Friday April 18th 12pm to Saturday April 19th 12pm. One player at a time will step into the cage for a 20-minute hitting slot, broadcasted live on Game Changer and Facebook. Supporters can pledge a flat donation or donate per ball hit. My wife did something similar back in her gymnastics days, and it was incredibly successful—and powerful.
The Pacheco family have been so great and always supportive wherever Emma has played. She has played at Dunham Park and Also for our team the Rawlings Tigers. If you can’t make the Hit-A-Thon you can put a straight donation to help. Every dollar will help the family out a lot! If you come to the Hit-A-Thon you can join the contest for a chance to win a 32inch Ghost OG. The newest bat from Easton/Rawlings. We hope each hitter can donate a lot during their 20mins on camera during our live feed on Game Changer. Please follow or fan the team Rawlings Tigers Orange 13u.
Thanks again for your support,
look forward in seeing what we can do for the family.
