Rally for Gary: Aid His Post-Transplant Journey

Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my beloved grandfather Gary, or known as Papa to me. After a long and grueling journey of battling liver failure, we are incredibly grateful to share that Papa has finally received a liver transplant. However, we are now facing the unexpected financial burden of his recovery, and we’re asking for your help to support him during this critical time.

Our story:

Gary is truly the life of the party, he’s the sweetest, most generous man you could ever meet. He’s always been the first to lend a helping hand, whether it’s supporting his IBEW, car club friends, or simply showing up for his friends and family whenever they needed him. His kindness has touched so many lives, and now we’re hoping to rally that same kindness to support him.

Due to the transplant we had to temporarily relocate to Arizona to wait for a matching liver. We’ve been here since the middle of September, and while we are so relieved he finally got the transplant, we are now facing significant expenses that are quickly becoming overwhelming.

Why we are asking for your support:

We are hoping to raise $7,000 to cover the many costs associated with his recovery, such as:

• Medical equipment needed to aid in his healing

• Temporary lodgings (Airbnb rentals) in Arizona as we need to stay here for his recovery

• Prescriptions and any specialized dietary items essential to his healing process

• Ongoing living expenses, including our mortgage back home, while we continue to stay in Arizona to support in his recovery.

We do not know how long we will be here for his recovery, which means we’re facing an uncertain financial road ahead. Every little bit will help relieve some of the financial stress so that our family can focus on what truly matters, which is helping my Papa heal and get back to the vibrant and funny life he loves.
