Rally for Heather and Her Children's Future

Many of us know Heather Cleveland as a strong, hardworking, resilient woman. Heather has had a journey to get to where she is today. From joining the Air Force after high school, raising Amandre & Nyasia when she was in her early 20s, putting herself through school, having Charlea & Oliver after a cancer diagnosis, and now fostering baby Ayla. She’s always worked hard to support her family, and has always given her 100% to everything.

Last month Heathers world turned upside down. Her estranged husband was arrested for the unthinkable. He is being held in county for MULTIPLE counts of criminal sexual acts against a child, including rape.

Devastated for her children, Heather is now left to clean up his mess. He has left her with a mountain of debt, and being responsible to carry a household with five children on her own.

Heather took the summer off from the Salon once all this went down. She needed to be available for her babies, but also be available for the police and DA, as well as attend all the interviews, therapy & doctor appointments. With her out of work, there is very little money coming in to support the family. PFL only goes so far.

While awaiting trial, Heather is also trying to get full custody of her children. She found out this week that her public defender will no longer be able to counsel her because of a conflict of interest, which we assume is “his” counsel. So now she needs to come up with some funds to retain an attorney.

Heather has a lot of work to do to start over and make a new life, comfortable home, and build new memories for her and the children. She is resilient but has a long road ahead of her.
