It is with a heavy heart that I have to type this out.
Yesterday 1/3/25 we have lost a great man, person, Father, Grandfather and Husband. Johns fight on earth is complete, he is now up in Heaven watching over us.
Details to follow on arrangements for wake.
We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers even if we can't say it all the time. We know John was loved by many as he had the biggest heart a person can have.
On December 12, 2024, while warming up his school bus, John had a stroke. After an hour of fighting to stay upright in his seat and calling for help, he was found. Anyone that knows John will tell you he’s strong, tough, kind, and generous person.
He has such a passion driving the school bus and loves not only transporting students to and from school but would volunteer for charters taking students to various extra curricular events.
He has been in the hospital since this. He has a bleed on the brain that shifted the brain, making his recovery difficult. He’s not fully able to communicate and only has movement on his left side. Most of the time he’s sleeping and when he opens his eyes it’s a dazed stare.
After being intubated for a week, he is breathing totally on his own. Recently, he had a PEG inserted for long term feeding as he’s unable to eat solid foods.
His kidneys are failing and they have had to do a few rounds of dialysis in hopes it would help wake him up more as he is very lethargic still and they can't figure out why. They had stopped the dialysis as there was little improvement from the sessions and they do not want to put his body through more trauma as his body is very weak.
The hospital is in talks with the family regarding John being transferred to a nursing facility to monitor and work with his body and mind’s recovery. No one knows nor can they predict how much he will recover, but John’s family knows he is a fighter.
John and the family have a long road ahead of them. Medical expenses, long-term care expenses, and other costs will arise because of this unexpected and terrifying event. No family can be prepared for such a sudden and terrifying event to a loved one.
The Family appreciate’s all your positive thoughts and prayers during John's rally for recovery.
