Young American Tragically Killed by a Mexican Police Officer

On January 5th, a tragic event occurred taking the life of Julian Rodriguez-Medina, a beloved son, friend, and brother, while he was visiting his mother in Juarez, Mexico.

While driving to the store to buy food for family with his older brother and friend, they were approached by a Mexican police officer who fatally shot Julian, the driver, while inside his vehicle.

Julian recently turned 19 years old and the youngest son. He was a U.S. citizen and lived in El Paso, TX. He was an extremely hard worker and had three jobs, one of them working with elderly people. He was a sweet young man with a big and kind heart. He is remembered by family & friends as someone who was friendly, helpful, loving, and lived life to the fullest. He loved to be around people and often surrounded by others.

Last year, his older and only brother, was involved in a motorcycle accident that he barely survived and endured severe injuries that required multiple facial reconstructive surgeries with prosthetics implanted into his face. Due to this, he must wear a ski mask to cover his entire face to help endure the pain enhanced by the cold weather. That morning, his brother was wearing his ski mask on the way to the store due to the cold and was said to look suspicious while seated in the passenger seat, next to his brother, Julian.

Due to the nature of this horrific and unexpected incident, the family will need to hire an attorney to assist with the current investigation as he was an American citizen killed by a Mexican police officer. The family is in major need of assistance with attorney fees and funeral expenses.

Your donations, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. All donations will be used to support the memorial services for Julian as well as to assist his mother, Lizbeth, with attorney fees during this incredibly difficult time. We deeply appreciate the outpouring of love and support from the community. Please continue to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.

Forever Grateful,

Siempre agradecido,

La familia de Julián
