Rally for Julie Paquette
Donation protected
Hi friends, family, community,
Our friend, Julie Paquette, was involved in a serious accident while kite surfing in the Dominican Republic on Saturday, August 11th. Due to the severity of her injuries, Julie must be air-evacuated back home to Montreal, Canada to receive specialty surgery, treatment and rehabilitation for her broken pelvis and damaged femur. She needs this operation to maintain mobility in her leg. The costs for the emergency surgery, air ambulance and rehabilitation are quite steep.
She has a long road to recovery ahead, but we aren’t worried one bit! Julie has the spirit of a warrior, a heart overflowing with purpose and passion and the strength of her family/friends.
For the last several months, Julie has been living and bouncing around from Montreal to East Africa and in the Dominican Republic. Unfortunately, she was not insured for this portion of her world journeys. Now, we need to call upon and rally her extensive network of global friends and community members. We need your support in alleviating the financial stress and burden of this accident so that Julie and her family may focus all their energy on her full recovery. Our goal is to raise $60,000. The costs are as follows;
- Surgery: $15,000
- Air ambulance: $40,000
- Rehabilitation: $5,000
All funds will be going to Julie's Father, Marc Andre Paquette. He will be in charge of the accounts and payments for Julie's treatments.
For those who know Julie, or have read her blog, you know that she lives and thrives in her challenge zone while aiming to better herself and those around her. Her love of travel and helping others has taken her around the globe and allowed her to live and work in the DR leading youth service trips. Since first visiting the DR several years ago, she decided to pursue her passion for kite surfing and has become an advocate for women’s representation in the sport.
THANK YOU for your support and love - every bit helps. Please donate what you can and help us in spreading the word by sharing this page. We will keep this page up to date on Julie’s progress and well-being.
