Rally for Mike Colgan

Hello and thank you for visiting Mike's Go Fund Me page! My name is Jennifer Hodges and for years Mike was my co-worker.

Mike is well known to the Bay Area community having worked in the field of Broadcasting for more than 50 years. He spent 33 of those years at the legendary KCBS Radio in San Francisco interviewing everyone from Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama to Henry Winkler. Covering numerous Superbowls, World Series and NBA Championships, Mike traveled with the Raiders and was front and center for the Warriors sweep to an NBA title at the Cow Palace back in 1975.

More importantly than his career, Mike is a husband, father, grandfather and friend. Those who know him, love him.

After retiring from Radio, Mike and his wife Sharon moved to Arizona to enjoy the good life. Unfortunately, it has been short-lived.

On March 5th, while out for a morning walk, Mike stumbled and fell face-first into the pavement. A freak accident you could say. He had his hands in his pockets and wasn't able to cushion the fall. The impact broke his neck. What started as a nice stroll ended with a major spine injury. Doctors attempted to relieve pressure on the spine but as of now, Mike is a Quadrepelegic.

What this means moving forward is that Mike needs quite a bit of help. He is currently in a Rehab facility but time there is limited as insurance will not cover it long-term. Medical professionals are advising him to get home health care, PT, and whatever equipment is necessary to make life at home a possibility. Estimates of care are incredibly high and EVERY dollar raised will go primarily for that exact purpose. Mike's daughters Jody and Monica, along with his wife Sharon will be accessing any funds raised to ensure Mike gets the care he needs.

We SO much appreciate any help you can offer. Mike has brought joy, love, and stories to so many people. Let's show him that HIS story doesn't end here.
