Rally for Nurse Nikki

Donation protected
Looking for some inspiration? Meet our beloved friend "Nurse Nikki" Taggart, an incredible mother to 2 beautiful daughters, loving wife, and amazing friend to so many. Nikki has spent the last 6 years of her career as an RN, helping save the lives of others during their darkest times. Nikki is someone who is known for always putting the needs of others before her own, but now it's our turn to help her write the next chapter of her life...

Just after Nikki's 39th Birthday, she received devastating news - she was diagnosed with breast cancer - triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma, grade 3 (most aggressive # on the scale), 3cm tumor. She started 16 rounds of chemo on August 2nd, which included 12 weekly treatments of Taxol and carboplatin, followed by 4 treatments of Adriamycin and cytoxan, combined with 18 rounds of Keytruda.

Despite facing these treatments with incredible resilience, Nikki encountered unforeseen setbacks during the fall when she battled severe pneumonia. Complicating matters, her bone marrow struggled, leading to low white blood cell counts. Consequently, her medical team postponed treatment a few times to allow her body additional time to regenerate new cells. Unfortunately, these delays have translated into more missed workdays than initially anticipated, leaving Nikki with no available paid time off (PTO) and continuous medical bills.

Nevertheless, the future is bright and Nikki's positive outlook and attitude will guide her through this challenging time. Post-chemotherapy, in early 2024, she is scheduled for a bilateral mastectomy with a subsequent recovery period of 4-5 weeks, followed by reconstructive surgeries. We pray this will mark the end of an exceptionally difficult and costly year for Nikki and her family.

Asking for help is not easy for Nikki or Kevin, which is why we are doing it for them. It's our turn to help the Taggart family and show Nikki how much she is loved as she continues on this journey. Please consider how you may be able to help with the unexpected medical bills they are facing. Please also keep Nikki and family in your hearts and prayers! Much Love, Team NT
