Rally for Recovery: Overcoming Septic Shock

Donation protected
on October 29 I ended up on a ride to the hospital. Remember very little until two weeks later. I was told I had septic shock, and they had to take my colon and gall bladder to save my life. Talk about a crazy moment of disconnect. My kids were called 3 times to say goodbye (leave it to me for drama)

For a while my whole vocabulary consisted of "ow" (for hours on end). I knew people wanted specifics, but it was the only word I could reach. When I finally had some words, I tried to bribe the nurse for ginger ale, Got ice bits. for weeks the ICU looked like tangled octopi. There were so many lines. Now, the ongoing questions are: Where are you? Who are you? What month is it? etc.

Moved into a kinda regular ward with heart monitoring. Then off to rehab. My one child commented on how good I looked, which I couldn't buy until I was reminded that I was knocking on death's door the last time they saw me.

I have an osto bag lovingly named Stella. It will be part of me for the rest of my life. I haven't worked in nearly 2 months and I've already had to pay a lot out of pocket because I can't reach (ouch on the budget). I am going to have to go slow to allow for ongoing nap time (man can I sleep)

It's a BIG shift throughout my being. We live on limited means, so the bills aren't going to be pleasant. Help in any way, even if only via good vibes
