Prayers needed!
And any help would be GREATLY appreciated. My granddog, Riley, has been ill for a little over a week and had to end up having emergency surgery Saturday night. During surgery, he was found to have an ulcer that had created a hole where his stomach empties into his intestines. He had fluid and stomach contents floating in his abdomen, causing him to become very ill. Two wonderful vets at Whitney’s worked diligently to irrigate the toxic fluids from the abdomen and repair the damages to the best of their ability, but there is still concern that it may not remain closed. After doing all they could do, Riley was referred to VCA in Aurora for critical supportive care. Riley is stable for now. He has a drain in his abdomen and they placed a NG tube in his nose last night to empty his stomach and now feed him thru it slowly. They are supporting him on nausea, pain, and gut motility meds. He is much more alert today and was so happy to see his parents. These next several days are critical, as he is not out of the woods. The kids are staying close by so they can visit him a few times a day. Anybody who knows Andrew and Alyssa Hoing know that their dogs are their babies and they would do anything for them, even if it means taking on a tremendous financial burden. Though they are prepared to figure it out in their own, I did ask their permission to reach out to friends and family. They would never ask for help, but they are looking at a some hefty medical costs, so anything would help!
Everyone please, please KEEP PRAYING for their boy ❤️
